UPDATE: Reaching out
I have not been posting regularly. Obviously. Now that we have been asked to shelter-in-place, I am finding I have a lot more time on my hands! So, I figured the best way to stay on routine when there is no semblance of the routine I had before, is to make a new one!
Yay! Much has changed in my life since beginning this blog, my eldest children are grown and moved out, leaving us with a family of 4 at home. Jobs have changed, schools, even our house has changed. Something that hasn't though, is the need to keep my skills sharp so I do not fall back into old patterns of mentally unhealthy actions, beliefs, and feelings. I have continued to grow since 2009 when first learning DBT, and I still feel it quite literally saved my life. Also, though there are many other personal growth options. Jeanne has been doing a lovely job of weaving not only DBT skills into group, but also CBT, mindfulness, and many, many other sources for skills of deep self-reflection. Which all promote growth and mental health stability. She has been essential. .💜
Because her contribution has been so amazing, I am inviting guest writers to offer their own brand of peer support and the use of skills to help them get through the day. So please, email me any of your personal experiences and I will post them. My first guest writer is to follow.
Please, take care of yourself and others. Enjoy the extra time you may be getting with your families, yourself, or friends during these times of more time spent at home, as I am sure it does not matter where on the globe you live right now, if you aren't personally impacted by this health concern, I am certain you know someone who is. Find love, search for love in everything and everywhere and see if it doesn't brighten your day. In that vein, please enjoy our first guest writer.
